Expiration Actions

When your countdown reaches zero, you can control exactly what happens. Configure these settings in the Config tab under "When Timer Expires."

Available Actions

Show Zeros

Default

Display 00:00:00:00 when the timer expires. The timer remains visible but stopped.

00:00:00:00

Hide Timer

The timer completely disappears after expiration. The image returns a transparent 1x1 pixel.

Note: Email clients may show a broken image icon. Consider using "Show Message" instead.

Show Message

Recommended

Display a custom text message when expired. The message appears in the same style as your timer.

Example messages:

  • • "Sale Ended"
  • • "Offer Expired"
  • • "Event Has Started!"
  • • "Stay tuned for the next one!"

Redirect to URL

Redirect viewers to a different page when they view the expired timer. Only works on web pages, not in emails.

Important: Redirects don't work in email clients. Use for website embeds only.

Best Practices

  • For Emails: Use "Show Message" to provide context
  • For Websites: Use "Redirect" to send users to a landing page
  • Match Your Brand: Use messages that align with your campaign tone
  • Test Before Sending: Preview what happens when the timer expires

Email Considerations

Email clients have limitations that affect expiration behavior:

  • Image Caching: Some email clients cache images, so users might see an old timer state
  • No JavaScript: Redirects and interactive features don't work in emails
  • Hidden Images: Some clients block images by default—expired message might not show
