Getting Started
How do I create my first countdown timer?
Sign up for a free account, click "Create Timer" from your dashboard, choose a template and set your target date. Your timer will be ready to embed in minutes.
What types of countdown timers can I create?
SnapTimers supports three types: Fixed Date timers (countdown to a specific date and time), Evergreen timers (a countdown that starts when someone opens your email), and Recurring timers (weekly or monthly events that restart automatically). Recurring timers need the Growth plan or higher.
Can I preview my timer before saving?
Yes. The editor shows a live preview that updates as you make changes. You can try any design for free. Saving custom colors, fonts and spacing needs a paid plan.
What happens when my timer reaches zero?
You choose what happens: show zeros, hide the timer, or show your own image.
Email Integration
Which email providers are supported?
SnapTimers works with all email providers that support images, including Mailchimp, Klaviyo, HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, Constant Contact, SendGrid, and more. We also provide ESP-specific tokens for personalization.
How do I embed a timer in my email?
After creating your timer, copy the HTML image tag or the timer URL and paste it into your email template. The timer shows the current time remaining each time the email is opened. Step-by-step instructions are on our Guides page.
Will the timer work in all email clients?
The timer is a standard animated GIF, so it displays wherever images are shown, including Gmail and Apple Mail. Some desktop versions of Outlook show only the first frame, so the timer appears but does not tick. Always send yourself a test first.
Can I use personalized/evergreen timers in emails?
Yes. Evergreen timers are made for offers like "Your discount expires in 24 hours". On the free plan the countdown restarts each time the email is opened. On paid plans, each subscriber keeps the same deadline every time they open it.
Billing & Pricing
Is there a free plan?
Yes! Our free plan includes unlimited timers, 10,000 views per month, and access to all templates. Free timers display a small "Powered by SnapTimers" watermark.
How are views counted?
A view is counted each time someone opens your email or webpage containing the timer. Each unique load of the timer GIF counts as one view.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Yes, you can change your plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades take effect at the end of your billing cycle.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit cards through Stripe.
Is there a refund policy?
Yes. We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on your first payment for a paid plan. Contact us within 14 days for a full refund. After that, you can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing period, with no refund for the remaining time.
API & Integrations
Do you have an API?
Yes! Our REST API allows you to programmatically create, update, and manage timers. API access is available on Pro plans and above.
What can I do with the API?
You can create, update and delete timers, retrieve timer analytics and check your usage.
Are there rate limits?
API requests are limited to 60 per minute and 10,000 per day per API key. Enterprise customers can request higher limits.
Is there webhook support?
Not yet.
Security & Privacy
Is my data secure?
Yes. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL) for all data in transit and AES-256 encryption for data at rest. We never sell your data to third parties.
Are you GDPR compliant?

Where is my data stored?
We use Supabase for our database, Vercel for our application and Cloudflare for timer delivery. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Do you track email recipients?
We count timer views for analytics. Evergreen timers that keep the same deadline for each subscriber use the subscriber ID your email platform puts in the image link, which is the email address on some platforms. We turn that ID into a keyed hash when the image is requested and store only the hash, in a form that is different for each timer. We use it only to keep that countdown consistent and to avoid counting repeat views. The ID is still part of the image link itself, so it passes through our CDN and servers on each request.
